Muscular stimulation of articulation muscles
Children with various speech or developmental disorders often require muscular stimulation of articulation muscles. At our center, we use the time-tested Shcherbakova method to treat dysarthria. Stimulation by sinusoidal modelled currents is directed at weakened lip, tongue and chewing muscles. This method reduces spasticity of articulation muscles and improves speech: pronouncement of sounds becomes clearer, and the volume of voice increases. The use of this method produces effect on articulatory organs and on the central nervous system in general.
