The Bobath concept is still developing, but it already has its principles. They include suppression or elimination of reflective tonic activity leading to normalization of muscle tonus and helping activate movement reactions according to the sequence of their development (spontaneous movements, head control, straightening reactions, making turns, etc.). In addition to neuromuscular correction and treatment, the Bobath concept includes development of self-service skills and raising a child in family environment. It is very important to teach the child the right ways of personal hygiene, considering specifics of his illness. The meaning of the concept is that the parents and the child live in the Bobath system – this is their lifestyle according to this methodology.

The main effects produced by the physiotaping method include accelerated metabolic processes in tissues, removal of edemas, normalization of lymphatic and blood flows, increasing volume of movements in joints, pain and hyperthermia relief in the body, removal of pathogenic chemicals from tissues, inflammation relief, improved contraction and relaxation of muscles, unblocking muscle cramps and spasms. The taping method is widely used and combined with the Vojta and Bobath methods.
